Hello everyone! In the past few days i've been on this forums daily and I'm amaze how friendly everyone is. Here's my quick question. Once my g/f and I arrive at the resort she plans to get a mani, pedi and a massage to be fully relax before the "partaying" begins. Now I'm sure the resort offers this services, but I just wanted to see if any one has tried them or any other places in Cancun and if you could post fees if possible. I did go back all the way to the 20th something page and found nothing. Thanks in advance
I know they offer different massage packages. The massages are nice (my wife likes them) and cost around $80 for an hour. I've heard mixed reviews about the couples sensual massage (less massaging and more sexual stimulation). If you go to the Temptation website and then click on daily activities, off to the right hand side there will be a link that says "spa". Click on this and then on "download menu" and it will list everything they offer. They don't offer a mani & pedi, but something that sounds like a pedi.
The manicures and pedicures are done in the beauty salon, that's separate from the spa. I don't have any experience with the beauty salon. My fiance and I went for a couple's hot stone massage at the spa and it was a lackluster experience. We checked in ahead of time but they didn't seem to know what to do with us. When they came to get us for the massage it all felt very rushed and awkward. Although I'm not sure why they couldn't find us since it's not a big place. The massage was good, the therapists were skilled and it wasn't the sensual one so there were few awkward moments. But, when I went to shower after there was a distinct lack of towels and the soap in the spa showers wasn't good at all. Plus, and I realize that this wasn't totally under their control, there was a lady talking very loudly on her cell phone in the locker room while I was getting changed. It's not totally fair of me to compare it to the Vegas spas I've been to, but it didn't measure up enough for me to want to spend that money again. Also if you have a sensitivity to incense smoke be warned, they burn it constantly in the spa.
Just grab a pack of Lee-Press-On-Nails at the airport, so you don't waste any precious pool time. ;-)
I won a hot stone massage with the Miss Temptation prize package, and I thought it was heavenly! I don't like incense at all, but I don't remember smelling any, so maybe they quit burning it. Craig had a "regular" massage (I won massages for two), and he said it was good too (in fact, he had a second one later in the trip) I also won a manicure, and it was okay. Not terrific, just okay. I'm sorry, I can't remember what the cost was, as I won mine. However, the manicures and pedicures are done in the hair salon, and it is NOT a luxury spa experience at all. I would suggest that your gf get her mani and pedi at her favourite spa before she comes down to Cancun, and use her spa money on a massage at TTR.
The wife had a manicure last trip was disappointed polish wore off in a day but the chlorine in the pool probably had an effect on that.
Oh yeah I forgot about that. When we stayed at the Iberostar I got a pedicure the first day there and it got messed up in the pool really badly. Pool water and nail polish do not mix so give the polish lots of time to really set before you hit the pool again.
I hear that gel manicures/pedicures are great for beach holidays because they stand up to chlorine and sand, but I've heard that you have to get them professionally soaked off so I've been reluctant to try them. A girlfriend also suffered a lot of damage to her nails from some type of gel manicure. But some people swear by them.
Just to be safe I'll make sure she gets all that done here LOL. The last thing I want is for her to be upset due to her nail polish coming off. Thank you all very much for the quick replies.
