I usually use Fedex and have it delivered to my in-laws' house because there's always somebody home to receive things there. I try to avoid the Mexican postal service because they've lost quite a few things.
If you can take a hint, my electric, water, cable, home phone and cell bills are all delivered by courier services. Guys on Mopeds. Not sure who delivers all the crap to my home for people I have never heard of. I have shipped things over the years by Fedex without problems. Fortunately I travel a bit so can bring in things I really need. My daughter was hurt that she could not mail me a "real" Father's Day card, but I printed and laminated the online version so it is REAL to me. It helps to have friends who travel so long as you don't overwhelm them with too frequent, too expensive, too large, too heavy and too expensive things. I am going to NY next week and have had a few things shipped to a good friend there. I feel a bit guilty as it turned out to be 16 orders, although most are small. I think the biggest things are some running shoes I got for $75 US that here are $1,700 pesos. Good luck if you need to be receiving mail or packages. Strongly suggest emails for all correspondence and not to be optimistic about all packages making it to your possession.
This. Courier service is about the only thing reliable here. Wouldn't send anything of value via Mexican Post.
