I've been lurking for a few days. I'm trying to plan a solo vacation for the last week of April. Temptation appeals to me because of the outgoing social group. Since I'm traveling alone, I would prefer to make friends quickly and have people to party with. My main questions are: 1) Do solo guests have to share a room with another solo guest? 2) Do the restaurants accommodate dining at the bar...if I get stuck eating alone I don't want a whole table. I'd rather eat at the bar and chat with the staff. 3) Is there any possibility of scuba diving...and is it worth it. I'm certified, but definitely a beginner. Those are my initial questions.
Hi, check out the April Roll Call-there appears to be a large group of singles going! I'm even thinking of going and would be there as a single gal for the 6th. time. 1. No, the hotel will not match you up with another single. 2. I've never seen anyone dining at the bar-except in the evening, PattyO bar has a little snack buffet and then serves burgers late in the evening. I always just sit alone at a table(not that I like it). I'm not even sure that the restaurants have chairs at the bar-it's just the waiters getting their drink orders for the tables. 3. There is a guy who does the introduction to scuba at the sports pool. He is very nice and is there every morning. You should ask him for his suggestions for diving. My now ex loved diving and really enjoyed the diving in Cancun. Maybe I'll see ya there in April!!!
you need to go in mid april and hang with all of us. My wife is awesome and can make frineds with anyone. We'll be your friends...

:aktion069: Hello Jinx..Welcome to the board..You'll have a great time in April/May...:daveandmo:....Like Tere said...You can get a room as a solo... The room will have 2 queen size bed or 1 king size...So u have the whole room to yourself...LOL... The only bar that has seating is the O'Patty bar in center of hotel...I go solo also..i just get a table. It's no problem...But i know you'll meet people on your first day...And yes there is scuba diving...I forget him name at the moment but you'll find him at the sports pool each morning. Great guy...Shows u alot went u go out!!..It's worth it.. And jump on the April Roll Call and see who's going the same time u are...Everyone there is great!!! You have no problem meeting up with people..Just hang out at the SEXY pool..LOL
just be yourself, ya will not be alone for long--maybe about 15 to 20 minutes. ya be suprized how quick a like minded groups will find and invate ya in.
Jinx, we are a couple, but very social and always meeting people. We very seldom sit alone at dinner, we find it more fun to be with a group. I am sure you will meet lots of people at the pool during the day, and have people to dine with in the evenings. It is a super friendly place! Pat
