Trying to make a choice between Temptations Cancun and Los Cabos. Lots of information to go on from the Cancun forum, just not much here regarding Los Cabos. I'm guessing the atmosphere is not quite the same in Los Cabos. From the lack of comments I would assume it is much quieter and laid back. Is there still topless around the pool? Do many paticipate in the evening actiivites? Those answers make a big difference to us. If you've been recently and can comment, it would be appreciated.
Don't forget, this is a Cabos forum as part of a subset of a Cancun forum. Most of the people on the entire forum are concerned with Cancun. Those going to Cabos but posting on this forum for the most part have found this forum through the Cancun forum. Steve only developed this forum about 2 years ago when Cabos Desires became Cabos Temptations. People on the Cancun forum were requesting information about Cabos so Steve opened this one up. Having said all that, we have been to Cancun 5 times and are heading to Cabos for our first time in two weeks. I don't know what it is like first hand, but from reading this forum and doing some research I know what I expect. There will be toplessness around the pool. It is smaller by quite a bit than Cancun, I believe Cancun approaches 700 rooms, this one perhaps 150, just the size difference makes it quieter. It used to be a Deisre, so it is possible that some of the clientele visit here because they got hooked on the place when it was Desire. The hot tub at night is supposed to be quite fun, or it can be, depending on the night. The beach is nice, but the water is dangerous to go into. There is 2 nearby towns, each with a population of approximately 50 000 people, they are supposed to be neat towns. Cabos St Lucas has the better night life, Sammy Hagar formerly of Van Halen owns a bar there, the Cabo Wabo Cantina and he also makes his own Cabo Wabo Tequilla. The giggling marlin is another Bar I would like to hit up. The first town is a 30 minute walk, the second town is a 30 minute drive. This is what I know and expect, but it may not be completely acurate. Hope that helps somewhat.
This is a forum, that not many people know about. To base your decisions on going to the resort or not it is a little silly, like I saw someone do in another thread. You will have fun at the resort, but if you are the type of people that need someone to post stuff on a littlely used forum , then maybe you won't have fun lmao
On a more serious note, we have been to both resorts, and you will have a lot of fun at either of them. The reson why we have chosen Los Cabos the last 4 times is the weather. The last two times in Cancun the weather was really bad. We have rarely seen a cloud when in Los Cabos. Plus its an easier flight. You can not go wrong with either resort. The hottub open till 3 in the morning with its own swim up bar in Cabos is hard to resist also PS, you wouldn't really want to go into the sea around Temptation in Cancun either, its really dirty and it stinks. Never seen anyone in it near hotel, they have to travel to other areas. Here are some reviews on Cabo resort if you havent seen them, to make up your own mind. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re..._Jose_del_Cabo_Los_Cabos_Baja_California.html
Read our trip report for a recent take by a couple that lives for fun. We found the resort pretty laid back as a whole. We enjoyed our stay; it was more of 'recharge' than a 'partay' type of vaca this time. If you are seeking a more crazy time go to Cancun TTR or better yet go to Desires Cancun or Desires takeover of Cabo TTR. Just our two cents...
That's a fair comment. While both resorts have the same name , they are completely different. Cancun has more people and is a more livelier place, saying that, Cabo only has one pool so all the action is there unlike Cancun where with three pools it is more spread out( with most of the action at the party pool) Like any resort it depends on the crowd that's there that week as to how wild and crazy it can get. We can't wait to go back to Cabo April 18th for 10 days.. The wilder the better for us
We are going to Los Cabos for Desire Week. Any suggestions for other forums (besides Trip advisor)? Having a hard time finding any active groups or links. Thanks
We just came back from Cabo and loved it. The resort is much smaller but that is a good thing it is easier to meet people there. We were at cancun in September and found the crowd very quiet and a little uptight. Cabo has a more west coast crowd and we found them more liberal, more fun and dare I say better looking. We will not go back to Temptations Cancun but are trying to find a way back to Cabo asap.:icon_biggrin:
