TTR virgins here (some good friend of ours suggested it)...

Looking at the rates that Alpharooms has I haven't been able to find anything better. Just wondering if anyone has had any problems booking with them ? They seem to be from the UK and being a Yankee I'm just wondering if I would have any problems booking with them too ?

Also, we're a bit confused on the room selections they show...

    Double
    Double/twin deluxe
    Double deluxe
    Double superior
    etc.

We just want to make sure we have a king bed lol...not sure what the other differences are.

    Thanks in advance

This is our third time using them and several more on here have used them much more, and they always get good reviews. Have not had a problem other then having to call the bank for the Intl charges.

Still trying to figure out what room type to select here... :(

Really would like a king bed with a balcony of some sort...so what would someone recommend from the selections below ? Looking to book for a mid/late Sept. trip. Also I read that someone else had a 2-person shower. My wife and I really want that. Do we just select the cheapest room and check on an upgrade when we get there ?

Double shower toilet balcony/terrace/patio - all
    Inclusive
    $472.00

    Double superior
    All inclusive
    $476.00

    Double deluxe
    All inclusive
    $562.50

    Double / twin deluxe
    All inclusive
    $595.50

    Deluxe double
    All inclusive
    $622.50

OK...another question about Alpharooms (and I believe I learned a few answers). I went to book the cheapest room and noticed they don't offer a cancellation policy with that one but the next level up (Supreme) does. I booked the Supreme for a whole $ 8 more and also added the cancellation policy. The total deposit should've been about $ 105.20. My bank declined it and they indicated that the amount that was being charged was approximately $ 200. Any idea why such a difference ? I used a Visa Debit card (just comes out of checking account).

    Thanks.

Not sure about that, send them a message through their site. This year our payment would not go through, even after calling the bank. We also have never used the payment option. Their rates were bouncing all over the place and we were trying to lock down the lowest cost we had found. The wife ended up calling them on her cell and it cost less then $8 on our bill. We always book the cheapest and ask for king when we check in.

I always just book the cheapest. Never had an issue with them.

We always book with them never had a problem. As far as a call from the fraud department call your credit card company. It hits an alert because alpharooms is in the uk. The first time I booked I got a call from my credit card company as well. I'd rather have peace of mind knowing that my credit card company is watching for fraudulent charges than not.

I did open a support ticket with them to find out what the problem is, haven't heard back yet. Not sure what their hours are or how long to expect a response. I understand why my bank blocked the transaction and I don't have a problem with that (they just need to note it in the system so it goes through again the next time).

My biggest concern is why an amount of $ 200 was attempting to be authorized when on the website it indicated $ 105.
