My husband was recently deported from the U.S. I am a U.S. citizen but trying to make ends meet on my salary in the U.S. has been extremely challenging. We have 4 small children and I am considering moving to Mexico and am looking at the Cancun area or possibly Guadalajara(depending on where i can find a job). Luckily we have enough money to relocate and live with out a job for about 6-7 months but i want to find emploment sooner rather than later. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start. Obviously Google will only get me Telemarketing info/ESL(but you need a degree which i do not have). My parents are Mexican and I do speak spanish fluently. Any help is much appreciated. P.S. Advice on which neiighborhoods are decent would be great as well.
Hi there, What sort of job are you looking for and what are your salary expectations? There are lots of jobs in Cancun depending on what you want to do. The vast majority are pretty low paid when you consider Cancun is a pretty expensive city to live in. There was a job going at my company for a wedding planner/sales, it paid about 9 or 10 thousand pesos a month. Do you have any specialist skill that would mean they would hire you before you arrived? If not the best way to get a job is come here and and go knocking doors. Without knowing what sort of thing you are looking for and what money you want it's a little hard to comment.
