Hi everyone ! I'm Belgian and I'm living in Cancun for almost 2 months now, I got married with a Mexican a week ago Unfortunately, I can't get my visa this way because he's stil studying and I can't have a visa as dependent of him.. So I'm looking for a job in the area of Cancun but the only things I find are sales jobs and honestly I suck in sale.. I'm 23, I have a diploma in public relations and speak French, Spanish, English and a little bit of Flemish. I've already did the tour of the hotel zone but the answers are always the same, they don"t hire strangers, they haven't any vacants... I begin to feel a little bit desperate because I really need to find a job in order to stay here with my husband and I don't know where to look . Does anyone have any idea of where I can find something ? By the way, I'm also looking for meeting people, from Europe or another part of the world Thanks !

natacha - If you married a Mexican (Congratulations!) then it's really, really difficult for INM to turn you down. People with Mexican spouses get preference with INM (not that they will ever tell you this), because there are several special clauses in the INM law pertaining just to foreign spouses of Mexicans. For example if you marry a Mexican you are automatically eligible to work, you do not need permission from INM (you do still need to notify them tho). If I were you I would consult with Mauricio Mendoza who is an attorney many of us here use and recommend for INM issues. Mauricio was a Sub-Delegado at the Cancun INM office for 6 years.
