Is it better to buy liquor and pack in your luggage, buy at the duty free store at the airport here in the States or buy at duty free store in Cancun?

I'm not super picky but do want to pick up some flavored vodka to take.

Also, those of you that have been to TTR lately, do they have any flavored vodka or rum there?

Bottles are SUPER cheap at Duty Free. We picked up a bunch in NY before we left with the extra time we had in the airport. Free drinks on the plane were nice as well.

Then when you land you are toasted and ready to get moving rather than shopping.

if you miss the one at your airport, they actually have one between customs and luggage pickup. they have really good prices and no cab fair to walmart :=) i usually pick up a bottle of crown royal for the infamous "crown royal pool day"

If you are packing vodka in your suitcase, we suggest using the minature 1-shot bottles (hotel room bar size). They are very light and no worries about breakage (it takes 8 mini-bottles to make a 4-cup pot of jello shots in your room's coffee maker). Otherwise, just buy some liquor after you touch down in Cancun, although their selection will be much more limited than your choices here in the States. You won't find Cake Vodka at the duty free (which is best for jello shots).

They do have a few flavors of vodka but not many. We picked up some rum in Houston but never opened it.
