I would like to take some liquor (Tequila or whatever local), not expensive, as a gift to someone who helped me in France.

I don't want something from Walmart (only by litre), so I desperatly tried to find a small store, and I cannot. I know there was one on Mercado 28 a while ago (how long :?: ), but it seems to have disappeared.

I am sure someone has many ideas

    Thanks

You could try La Europea, I haven't seen their tequila selection but you might find they have small bottles.

For what it's worth, here's their website:
    http://laeuropea.com.mx/

There is a "catalogue" of sorts on their site, but very likely an incomplete one.

Just coming back from Orlando and find that in the new terminal 3 you must go into the duty free shop, is not optional and they have many small boxes with small samples of different Tequilas and the price was not so bad.

    Thanks!

I went to la Europea site... none of the links works. I don't know if it is a temporary problem, I will try again tomorrow.

Having been a mysterious shopper, I know the so-called "duty-free" are abusively expensive, and I don't want to wait until... it is too late. They must have some sizes that cannot be found anywhere else, though.

La Europea has 100 ml (or thereabouts) bottles of tequila. They recently had a display behind the check out area but they have had them since they opened. Different prices but in the $40-$50 range if I remember. They have the Mezcal with the worm if you are looking for a novel gift.

The exxtra store by us sells small bottles of liquor, tequila included. I'd have thought that our store was typical of others in the chain. We always buy our booze cruise prizes from there as we struggle to find the smaller bottles at the main supermarkets.

Haha, TJ  I am not sure it would be appreciated, although we eat snails, frogs etc.... YUMMMMM

La europea site still doesn't work. I can try go there, or an Exxtra, not thought about that. I also heard about La Divina, but I don't know where it is.

    Thanks

    Try COVI

The one here on Isla sells small bottles and really small bottles as well. You could make a sampler basket out of those!
    Enjoy your trip to France!
