Wife and I leave the 9th and lookin forward to a relaxing week in the sun. questions. 1) bubba kegs do they fill them with drink of choice or do you get the regular size drink in them? 2) I have a really nice camera is it safe to bring and or should i leave at home? 3) i know we have rights at Great P are there restaurants there that we might want to try and if so do we need reservation? 4) what nights does the staff take you into town to party? on a bus? 5) how often do you tip the servers? 6) things that we must do while there?
1) Yes! Whatever you want! They will fill the keg/thermos just tip them a few bucks! 2) Yes! I'm bringing quite a few cameras. Just be careful not to drop them! I've broken 2-3 cameras in Cancun 3) YES! Maison de Michele is wonderful! You must dress up(like the same as you would to go to Shangri-La at the Golden). Order a Mayan Coffee. Even if you don't like it, it is very entertaining to look at! Samarai is a good sushi restaurant at the great. I'd suggest taking a visit. The hotel is really beautiful. There are a lot of restaurants there and a beautiful gift shop and gym. 4) The staff takes you to the club area pretty much nightly. They take you in a taxi together or sometimes an SUV(sometimes even an SUV taxi ~~~~This is the only time I will ever condone a cab use in the hotel zone lol. 5) I have a unique way of tipping. I tip the server 1 dollar every time they come up(greet, bring drinks, help with food, check on us, and send us on our way). If they abuse my system I simply stop tipping. 6) Things you must do: While the massages are a little pricey (About 195 total for 50 minutes for a couple), it is worth it! The people are so nice and friendly and a side by side massage is always romantic. Another must do: Body shots at the tiki bar. Simple and it never gets old. - Sneak off and have some fun in the jacuzzi. -My favorite is having fun on the balcony at nighttime. haha - Another favorite is walking out completely naked on the balcony. I usually wave and jump up and down to the gardeners. They are like freaking ninjas! (You will see what I mean when you get there! lol) - definitely visit the great. Its so beautiful! It feels like you are inside of a ship! - Make sure you set aside a full day (9am-6pm) and take a trip to Isla Mujeres. Do it on your own. It is cheaper and you have more freedom than you would have with a tour. Take the bus to any port. You can say "UltraMar por favor" to the bus driver and he will stop at the port for you(especially if you tip him hehe). Take the ultramar ferry over and when you get there rent a golf cart for the day (about 45 bucks for the cart until 4:30pm.... just do NOT be late returning the cart.). It's a beautiful island and has so much to explore! - Lastly is something cheasy that I can easily do here at home at the Jersey Shore.... but I always rent a wave runner. The lagoon is the easiest. You can rent it in the ocean as long as the water isn't too rough.... but you still need to be really careful, because it IS an ocean afterall! AquaWorld is a GREAT company for parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and jet ski rentals. There is a representative by the pool. :lotsofmichaelfs: Hope this helps! My old suggestion of what not to do is: Taxis and the horrible Jungle tour. A total rip off!
