Legend of the Golden Screen

    ..."Mexican" golden screen, that is. My dad's father once ran a movie theater back in the 40's and 50's in Corpus Christi that catered to the Spanish-speaking crowd. Besides watching the original Looney Tunes cartoons on the big screen when they were released back when, my dad also got a lot of exposure to films made during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. My father had great deal of admiration for the great singer/actor Pedro Infante and many others. Until today I had not realized that Pedro Infante had suffered a tragic early death near Merida, Yucatan, when his plane (which he was piloting) crashed about five minutes after take-off. That was back in 1957, when he was only 39 yrs old (my age). Here's a clip of one of his songs:
