I'm wanting to bring an unopened pack of the legal potpourri with me to Temptations. On the pack it says that the product aheres to all federal laws. What's the word on that as far as customs go? Does anybody know? Please advise
I wouldn't chance it, :whisper:Mexican laws can be administered some inconsistently to put it nicely. Who knows what they will think of your stuff, not worth the risk in my opinion. FYI, it's all iclusive, save your stuff for when you get home, there is booze galore at Tempations
Had to look this one up - must be be getting old! Pot Pourri to me is something old ladies put in a room to make it smell nice. I think now it's to do with smoking herbs that look (and presumably, have an effect) very much like marijuana, no? My guess on the situation in Mexico is if customs find it at the airport or the hotel staff see you smoking anything that they think 'may' be an illegal drug then you'll be held by the Police until an analyst does the tests and verifies that the substance was not in fact illegal. Not a good way to spend your vacation. Telling them it applies to "all federal laws" because it says so on the packet isnt going to wash - this is a different Federal.
Don't feel bad Steve.. I had the same thought.. "What the heck do you want to bring that for???? Just bring a spray bottle." But also agree with your and bdanielle's advice. I mean it's only a week or two. You'll survive till you get home. And no one wants to chance seeing the inside of a mexican jail. Trust me! Jamie
We were there Oct 16-24 and there were a group of British? guys who brought 2 large hookahs and flavored tobacco with them. They were sharing in Patty O's!
I agree with Steve if that is what we are talking about. No matter what that package says it doesn't mean much at customs. Why risk it or put added stress to the situation. Better to be safe then maybe spending a half day trying to explain what it is to a Mexican Custom Agent.
We have been to Temptations Cancun the last three years and PattyO's has two of their own hookah's and flavoured tobacco. It is 10 dollars to rent with the tobacco. Always a good party atmosphere as someone always is curious and it opens up good conversation. Just ask the bartendars
just googled it....we always called those water bongs...never heard of using one with tobacco though???
