Anyone buy a membership recently? Care to share what you paid and what you got?

I've got one for sale and am trying to price it fairly. $7500. It is unused, 25 weeks, plus free week at TTR. Garden view, 4 referral weeks/year. RCI/SFX/Worldpass.

The key to buying is can you sell the referral weeks to your friends, etc...? referral weeks will make a return on your investment. Not sure I would depend on the company to sell your referral weeks. Good luck with the sale.

I think that's a little on the high side.

Referral weeks are 25% off the rack rate but for the most part you can usually find prices somewhere in between the 2. I personally think that trying to sell a referral week for X $'s and having that person sit through the 60-90 minute presentation for the member perks is a bit of a stretch. The referring member gets a $250 credit for them going to the presentation and $500 if they buy. Having said that I do realize there may be certain times of the year that there could be a large difference the referral rate and the best internet / travel agent price so selling could be a viable.

Last May we gave friends a referral week which was about $30 / night cheaper than the best internet price; a savings of $210. So selling it to them just for the member benefits and then having them do the presentation is not something I'd be comfortable doing...friends right :) The credit is more than enough for us.

You have to remember I believe there is a transfer fee something like 500.00 to 1000.00

Thanks all...I'm trying to avoid losing money, but I'm open to a fair price. Just not going to be able to use it and could use the money elsewhere. I'm open to a fair negotiation, just want to get what it is worth based on current market.
