Ladies, before TTR do you fake bake, spray tan, or both? In the past I've always used a tanning bed for a week prior. I'm starting to become more conscious of my skin and too much sun. Worried spray tan won't last being in and out of the pool.

I wouldn't recommend getting a spray tan to help prevent burning before going to cancun. The best is just to fake and bake few weeks prior and do a minimum amount of time. Spray tans are more for the look and won't help give you a good base tan. I'm sure the chlorine would wipe out the spray tan after a few days too.

Don't ask how I know so much about fake n baking :banghead:

Spray tan won't last at all if you are in and out of the water a lot.

I will be the white, red-headed gal for the first couple of days and then the horribly burned, red-headed gal the rest of the time. Scarlet is the new tan!! :)

I tan pretty well so prep tan is mostly just for looks...I will burn the 1st day if I forget to block but it will be tan the next day. I don't want to look like a prune in 10 years but I really like the sun. I drink too fast to apply block with every drink.

when I did tan in the booths, a trick i used was, I used sunblock and a towel on my face.. the rest of your body can take it a bit more but the face is different.. If i did tan a bit it would be this way, last few trips I didnt bother and I tried to stay under an umbrella.. ;) and ended up with a tan anyways.. lol

I don't do anything, just very careful whilst over there and make sure I apply sun block regularly. I've heard there's vitamin D tablets you can take that help to stop you burning, but not sure if they work.

I am a really white girl so I must Fake and Bake before we go or I will fry. Even after tanning before and using 50 sunblock I will still burn but not as bad as if I didn't prep my skin. I know it is not good for me but neither is all the other things I do to my body.:cool014: :ernaehrung015:
