I just got an email from someone at http://www.kmexradio.fm/. It bills itself as "News from Mexico in English" but so far (I've already listened for a whole half hour) I've just heard a bunch of oldie tunes (Byrds, Who, Beatles). The email said, in part: Seems like this could be good exposure for cultural and charity projects here. And also some of you might enjoy listening. Can't say I love their player, but it does work which is a serious point in favor. If anyone here is interested in the contact info for these folks just let me know and I'll send you what I have, I'm sure you can also find info on the site.
I really like "our" local station , Sol Estereo (over on the island - oops "our" island would by Coz, as "yours" would be Isla). They do a LOT of community involvement interviews and shows. Their religious guys are horrifically homophobic though, so there is good and bad. Yesterday listened to a lovely interview of their swim team (and the coach is Cuban) after a recent Cuban trip (and trifuno!). Oh, and my POINT being (yes, I did actually have one) was that I really need the Spanish exposure after listening to English all day.
