Did anyone here watch it.. The ear being half torn off made me ill..... I was at work and had to run to the bathroom.... The two chicks was a pretty good fight though...
I loved ALL the fights. The girls kicked a$$. And the Kimbo fight was awesome because, he actually got to test his new learned skills. This guy was huuuuge, and came to win. Seemed hopped up on something too. LoL! Because when he was taking Kimbos punches, he looked horrible, but fell to the ground. Im telling you that guy must've been numbed out. Any the corwd didnt like how kimbo won because they wanted to see the youtube Kimbo,...but I liked better this way, because I think this is the type of fight he needed to be taken more seriously. He broke out of 3 serious holds, very important stuff. This is better for him in the long run that he gets this type of experience now, and keeps his record intact. Im so glad this was'nt a standup 1st round kO. kimbo needs more ground work,...but MORE importantly he needs to build his stamina so he can go the distance. He almost passed out. I was impressed. the cheerleaders seemed out of place...but I cant complain about hot a$$.
WEC BABY!!! NOW THAT IS HOW YOU PUT ON AN MMA SHOW!!! Jens Pulver/Urijah Faber was one of the best fights Ive seen in a long ass time....no bulls**t music videos and dancing and internet fighters (sorry Kimbo you know i love ya homie) this was 100% mma at its best. EliteXC hopefully took alot of notes to improve their next show
I totally agree with you. I think the fights they stopped was Bs. First it was not bleeding from INSIDE his ear . they should not of stopped the fight.. I believe Kimbo may of lost if he would of been taken to the ground again. As far as the girls fight being stopped. I've seen worse that was not stopped. Although her eye did look bad. They seemed to of stopped the fights early because they was on prime time broad cast tv. The other fight they stopped because he got poked in the eye? b/c the cut sure was not bad enough to stop it. Just a big disappointment all around IMO
They didnt stop the fight because of the poked eye, they stopped it because after he was asked twice...TWICE..."can you see"...the dumb ass said no. I think he figured he'll lie to the doctor, and buy some extra time, becuase they said he had 5 minutes. But he screwed himself...he looked fine. If he said.."Yes I can see",...he would have gotten his 5 minutes. Oh please,..they girls eye was busted up bad...looked like hamburger...no one wanted to see that thing spletter and pop....like a certain ear. She was so done. Thats what the refs are for. If not it would be to the death. The last UFC fights I've seen didnt have nearly this much blood and action. And Kimbo had that dude done. It took 3 rounds sure,..but the last minute was all Kimbo, the dude was'nt blocking the punches,..If you cant defend yourself from devastating blows, the ref has the right to stop it. Either that or get blamed for not stopping it, and the guy dying or or having brain damage..which he may already have, because he took shots like that EVERY round. The ref saw enough, he was done. Not gonna lie though it was close fight. What I did like about this show was the divide its caused. Either you loved it, or you hate it. Every where I go or read, someones horribly bashing it, or praising it. Bashing the Kimbo fight, and the show production,...or Praising the quality of fights that we got to see last night. Its pretty funny. I want more.
That EliteXC show was a complete joke. Kimbo has very little game, and was almost taken out by a pretty average heavyweight fighter. The Carano fight was by far the best of the night.. and they stopped that one too. I agree with Fletch, the WEC card last night was much better, the skill levels were much higher, and because the fighters were properly matched the refs weren't the biggest part of the fights. The Faber/Pulver fight was a classic for sure. I'm glad I DVR'd the show.
I wasn't that impressed. Kimbo certainly has a long way to go to prove himself, but that guys ear exploded when he hit it, was pretty nasty!
I am just sooo glad that jerkoff Phil Baroni got his ass kicked. I cant stand that a-hole. saying he represents NY and coming in with his stupid dance. I wish they let it go longer so that other dude could do more damage. I hated that guy the first time I ever saw him years ago when he was in that Tough Man NYPD vs FDNY contest. as far as Kimbo, I think the Iceman could be right about him. Hes getting all the hype because of the Youtube videos where hes knocking out nobodys. What would have happened if he fought someone better then the average heavyweight like this week-end? lastly, If I wanna see fireworks and dancing cheerleaders, Ill go watch a WWE pay-per-view show. I could do without all that crap. .....and where the hell was Michael Buffer??
Lawler/Smith 2 will probably headline the next EliteXC card which wont have kimbo, which wont get ratings up....but when kimbo does come back he will fight the dude with Big Black as one of his corner men haha Would really like to see another Pulver/Faber fight as those 2 just completely blew me away. Who knew Pulver would go the distance....who knew Faber would make it out of the first round....who knew Pulver had a metal chin and who knew Faber had hands. oh how i love me some MMA UFC 85 this Saturday night from the O2 arena in London Matt Hughes is finally back, hes got a task on his hands in Thiago Alves...hopefully he comes back in top shape. For arguably my favorite fighter ever, this isnt a MUST win, but its def. a huge fight. Look for Marcus Davis/Mike Swick to steal the show however.....and maybe the judges will be a little more awake during Bispings fight this time
