Soooo the wifey and I are uber Karoake dorks. We love it. I see there's a karoake night the night before we leave... wouldn't mind some drunken karoake fun, but does it suck? IE crappy system, barely any songs, etc? :aktion070:
When we went the Karaoke night wasn't like the typical "give your name/song to the DJ and wait your turn" setup which obviously has mixed results even when folks haven't been drinking. Instead, there were 3 "acts" that had been pre-selected somehow and they all did their thing (and they were good) and then we voted on the winner of the cheap champagne and anal beads. We've only been once though, so I don't know if that was the typical experience.
When we were there in January similar set up but about 10 people got to sing, all were great the best though we had a guy who was a broadway performer, he played Mustafa in the lion king, unfreaking believeable, also one of the guys in our group is in a band back home and rocked to mic too. Everyone was great and a lot of fun was had. As sands84 said though not your typical pass the mic around karoke....just go sign up as soon as they ask for participants, get there early so you don't miss sign up.
its a Karoake contest.. you enter to sing a song and the guests vote for who they liked.. you only get one song each and they give you a prize.. like free enty for 1 at one of the clubs and maybe a T-sirt .. prizes not aways the same..

as a fellow karaoke singer, i been 3 times and been in karaoke competition 5 times, its good night and as long as you not upset if you lose, there are usually some good singers there... but strange things can happen, i won in November... so go for it.
That was our first night at TTR. Some of the singers were unbelievable! We didn't know any of you guys then...literally been at the resort a few hours, got some food, rolled up to karaoke, then met you guys later in Paty O.
