Hi first time I have posted on here. Me and my wife were thinking of going to cancun end of july and staying at Great Parnassus with our kids ages are 3 yrs old and 9 yrs old. How is it there in july and any reviews on that resort. Thank you in advance for your help
We have a 5yr old and whenever we want a kid friendly weekend away at a local hotel we go to the Great Parnassus. We have tried a few other places but we always come away thinking they are not as good as the Parnassus. The hotel has a lot of facilities for kids and a huge entertainment staff, there is always something going on for them. The food is great, far better than many hotels we have been and the service is excellent too. The guests come from all over and there are often a significant number of Mexican families there. The only downside on our past trips has been the beach which was very narrow (as were the rest of the beaches along that stretch of the strip). However, you may have heard of the beach restoration program currently underway which will improve them significantly. Cancun at the end of July is ultra hot, and I expect the hotel will be reasonably busy with families since the kids will be off school. Let me know if there's anything specific you need to know and I'll try to answer.
Thank you Steve - How has your experience been with the kids Club? Do your children like it? How is the staff? Activities?
Must admit we havent really used the kids club that much for our daughter. When we go we are only there for a weekend, so we tend to check it out for an hour or two together each day and then go on and do other things. The staff are bilingual and there's a stringent checking in/out procedure, their security is pretty tight. Kids are kept to similar age groups and activities include arts and crafts, sports, soft play area and there's also a movie theatre. I expect the age range of the groups vary depending on the number of kids but you should find that the range is +/- 2 years or thereabouts. They have two kids pools, one for teens and one for younger kids. Both pools have features appropriate to the age group. The younger kids pool has a pirate ship with slides and waterfalls and they both have lifeguards. There are kids events early evening like disco, treasure hunts etc. The teens pool has a larger castle type feature with bigger scarier slides. There's also a mini golf course which our 5 yr old loves to play.
Steve... We have read on the internet that Great Parnassus only serves 1 type of beer ...is this true? What types of liquor or beer are served there? Charles
