Cancun is affected, kind of. Downtown (where I live) every supermarket (including Walmart etc) and convenience store will lock up their alcohol at 6pm the day before the election and not offer it for sale until 6pm the day after the election. The same for any downtown bars. So, 48 hrs. We locals know it's coming so just stock up before Hotels are unaffected and will still serve alcohol throughout to their guests. The Hotel Zone bars and clubs "should" be unaffected too. The convenience stores in the Hotel Zone may stop selling but some will stay open and flout the laws. As tourists you shouldnt worry at all.
