We are looking for an English speaking person (English as first language - tho it could be soomeone who has 2 mother languages), pref. already with fm3 (is non Mexican nationality), to work part time 8am - 1pm between 3 & 5 days a week (always Thurs, Sat & Sun - some weeks Mon & Tues also) from asap until 20th August. The job is based at Cancun airport (transport to/from CUN will be provided and/or paid for) and involves giving arrival speeches to arriving tourists from the USA prior to them departing from CUN airport to their hotel by van (with no transfer rep on board). The goal of the speech is to provide essential basic information and to convince all customers to attend a Welcome Briefing given by the hotel rep that same day (usually in the afternoon - each customer will be given a personalised invite with time and place of briefing). There is no Time Share or Vacation Club involved. The individual needs to have excellent verbal communiaction skills, be well presented, be outgoing and confident and have the capacity to work quickly, under pressure and in a hot, outdoor environment! We will offer a basic rate of pay (tba) for the hours worked plus a bonus based on achieving certain levels of attendance at the briefings. Anyone interested should contact me directly: gkennedy@amstarmexico.com or on 8819581
Why would any tourists want to attend a welcome briefing unless the ultimate motive is for the briefer to convince them to show up at a time share presentation? Please clarify this for us.
Could well be to persuade them to attend a welcome meeting to be advised of (and encourage sales of) tours etc. I know a lot of British charter companies do this.
Having been a rep myself for many years with British tour operators I can tell you all companies ask their clients to attend welcome meetings. They include info on resort and of course to sell tours. I can also state 100 % this has nothing to do with timeshare- as stated in the title of the post. Amstar is the destination management company that handles Apple vacations as well as other accounts . Whenever I post anything on here it is open and honest and yet people still question it. Good luck to anyone who applies.
Hey Tracey, If you are not on a Rentista FM3, can you even have a valid FM3 without it being linked to a specific employer? Other than if you have one of the personal services FM3's. I was under the impression that you had to have a specific job in order to get an FM3 allowing you to work that job. Thanks,
TJ I have an FM3 as a dependent. Its easier to change an FM3 from an existing employer/status than it is to arrive and then apply for a completely new one.I guess what they are saying is they want someone who is already here and has an FM3 in place and then they will apply for the change of employer, rather than wait for someone to come from overseas and start the procedure from scratch. Tracey
Another opening Gringation will have to fill you in on that one, but I wanted to mention that I know of another full time job opening for an expat, not time share, etc., that involves communicating- in both Spanish and English- at a high level of skill and accuracy, orally and in writing, for anyone who thinks they can meet that qualification. This job pays well by local standards, and is based in Cancun, Centro. This position has an American supervisor, in a very busy department, which does not often have openings.
