We just got back last weekend from our first trip to Temptation. We had a great vacation. First the good. The sensual couples massage was everything people say it is, fantastic!!! I definitely would recommend to anybody that has the nerve to be daring when it comes to being exposed and intimate with their lover. Both my fiancée and I have lived a vanilla life but have enjoyed being more daring with one another and the massage real pushes the envelope in a good way . Next great thing was the Boobs Cruise which was a blast. We kept to ourselves but greatly enjoyed the commentary from the host and the free environment around us. The faces of people on the other boats were priceless and again the freedom was liberating. The waiters on the island were awesome. A definite recommend.

The burlesque and striptease shows the resort sponsored were great. The group I watched the Broncos beat the Patriots with were a blast. Our room with the jacuzzi tub was out dated, small bathroom, and moldy was located behind the seafood restaurant and was very private and perfect for our naked soaks every night and had a nice view of the water and palm trees. The staff was awesome and the quest we met were very friendly.

The bad was getting up at 7:00 am the first day to get a chair and finding all but 2 already taken to find those 2 to be in the shade most of the day was not fun but getting up at 6:00 the next morning and finding the same thing sucked. What sucked worse was seeing the same stuff on the same chairs everyday and never being able to enjoy the sexy pool. We never comfortably enjoyed the sexy pool. People staked their claim to most of the seats around both pools for the whole week by tying shirts around them and they were empty most of the time. The next thing that was heart breaking was calling for reservations at 8:56 a.m. For the Italian restaurant to only have 5:30 and 9:30 available. We booked for 5:30 and had a great dinner with Felipe as our waiter. The sad part was tipping Filipe $50.00 u.s. For reservations and him wanting to give the $50.00 back because he couldn't get us reservations any night except for 5:30 and 9:30. Felipe kept working on it and was able to get us a reservation for 7:30 on Wednesday. We went back and had a better time. The rest of the time we were stuck going to the buffet which we did not find to be very good for any of our meals except for the sushi. These things really made us feel like second class guest. Especially since we constantly walked by the Italian restaurant and seeing half of the seats empty. Makes me think people make reservations in advance and don't show up.

We were a little disheartened by these daily things but still had a great time by jet skiing, ATVing in the jungle with zip lining and swimming in the underground river. We swam with the dolphins and just had a blast. We met and hung out with locals on two occasions so we were able to see how they lived and had a blast.

It was nothing like I expected when we spent the last 4 months planning for theme nights but I can't wait for our next trip to Cancun.

Very nice!!! Can't wait for the massage, the cruise and everything else!! Very helpful tips for reservations and chairs around the sexy pool... As far as the quality of the food, as I have read, you get what you pay for... Not really the reason why you go there anyways, huh? Lol
Thank you for all the tips!

    Chairs

Thanks for the trip review. That sucks about getting a chair. If you can't get a couple chairs by 6am in the morning....WHEN are chairs available? Or do people literally "tie them up" all week?

They seem to get tied up all week. It is unfortunate. To be clear this around the pool area, not the beach. But like other threads suggest....ask people if you can put your belongings under their chairs. Not the ideal situation but can help.

What I had seen often was people literally took t-shirts and tied one chair to another and then another taking up whole groups of chairs. In my opinion reserving chairs is fine but it should be a daily thing and not for the trip in its entirety. Give everyone a shot. Same as reservations, start each day new so everyone gets a shot instead of the same few people getting all of the perks. I forgot about the "time share". We did it because they offered us $100.00 off the massage. The package sounds great, it is long, supper high pressure to buy in. But at the end of the day they want 20% down plus $500 contract fee which is $10,500.00 of the $50,500.00 U.S. That it cost. Sorry but that is not just extra spending money that I could produce for them lol. They don't take no for an answer and ultimately you will need to be rude and walk away mad.

    Great report.

For all others wondering about the "rules" mentioned here, I'll give you the stark realities:

    1) If you go in high season, you're going to be damn lucky to ever get a chair. People reserve them overnight, early morning, etc, and they are not polite and remove their stuff if they're not using them. They pretty much "own" the chairs. The key is to make friends with these people. Ryan and I almost always have a place to put our stuff and/or sit because we meet and become friends with the "owners" of the chairs.

    2) The reservations situation at the restaurant is pretty much a joke. I have stood in line at the seafood restaurant a few times and got "ok" times for reservations. Never tipped for this. But overall, we have given up on trying to get a reservation. I recommend either taking someone else's reservation who is too drunk/hungover to attend (again, you need to make friends with these people to know their situation at the restaurant) and/or go to any of the restaurants when you are ready to eat and see if they have anything available.

Once you recognize these realities and realize that you ain't going to this resort to lounge in a chair all day (go to a more boring resort for this type of thing) or eat whatever/whenever you want (again, choose a more boring resort and/or a cruise if this is your bag), you'll have a lot more fun.

Lou, Nice report, thank you for taking the time to write it up. I am glad you found things that you enjoyed, and it is a bummer you had some experiences that you didn't. You stated that you can't wait for your next trip to Cancun, is that going to be to TTR or do you think another hotel would work better for you?

Kind of piggy backing on what Hot2Trot had to say above, you experienced two of the very annoying problems that many people run into at the resort. I personally see these two things happening(chairs & reservations) to others, but they don't really effect me. One reason being that I never sit in a chair, and the other being the a 9:30 reservation will still work for Elyse and I, because we stay at the pool and quiet pool bar way too late anyway. So when I do see these things happening to someone that looks like it is there first time, I try to assist them with advice, an invite to dinner, or a suggestion on who's chairs they could use because "I know those people and you can throw your stuff there and sit in the chairs if you would like. Then come have a shot with me."

The trick to overcoming these issues is to make friends. The makes it much easier to jump in their chairs, and it's great when another couple invites you on their dinners reservation, that may be at a better time then yours. (also did the who show up for my reservation early thing, and since the restaurant is half empty anyway, they will seat you)

Lots of this mingling and friendship happens in the pool and/or at the pool bars. Not that it is a problem at all, but I noticed in your review you didn't make mention of the bars and drinks. People defiantly don't have to drink to have a good time, but that is usually what happens during the way, and how groups form. It seems like you did a decent amount of fun off-the-resort activities. Spending time doing those, and not finding a niche in the pool during the day, may have been an impact on some of your issues and 4 months of wasted theme night prep.

In 5 years I bet you still remember that massage, and not that buffet ;) haha

Thanks Steve. First I have already forgotten the buffet and unless my sex life takes some kind of wild and kinky turn, I will definitely remember the massage in 5 years lmao. We had our 52 ounce Bubba mugs and drank like fish. I met someone new multiple times a day. We had a lot of great conversations. Some people we hung out with on more then 1 occasion. TTR was fun. I had a great time watching the game with "coach". I am bad with names especially on my second or third 52 oz Capt n Coke or margarita so for the most part I just went with where they were from or what they did lol. I completely understand what you and hot 2 trot are saying but it does conflict with my sense of fair play and what is right. Temptations has 384 rooms so I am sure there are 600-700 guest at any one time and it seems that 100 monopolize some of the best things that they offer and the rest are on the outside looking in. We will probably take hot 2 trots advice and go to another resort next time but not with any regret towards our TTR trip.
