Can anyone tell me where one finds the local soccer and baseball schedules for the local teams around here?

I thought if I googled it I would get an answer. I'm not surprised at my (lack of) results, just flustered. Is this going to be like trying to find a public listing of events for Las Palapys?

I know others have been to local soccer and baseball games. I see the stadium. I wanna go... :?

Google can't find something that doesn't exist--they are good but not that good!
Welcome to the 2nd world. Not everything is online.
Here is the Atlante site http://www.club-atlante.com/
Maybe others can provide other sites but programs for Las Palapas, for example, won't be online normally.

    Hey Jim,

Yes, it's still a bit of a learning experience for me. I should know that Mexico is not necessarily an on-line friendly place.

Thanks for the link. I did actually see something similar...same soccer team name but a different link. I was close...

Los Palapys does have a website believe it or not. It took AGES to find and is not often updated...but...it does exist. :)

I guess that means seeking an on-line baseball schedule is not a good use of time?

Perhaps I'll just go to the stadium one of these days.

    Thanks again!

Keep an eye on the sports page of Novedades.

Here is the baseball team's site: http://www.tigresqr.com/2009/

It is happening slowly but websites are becoming more common. I have to go sign papers on Monday and the Notary actually has a nice website in English and with a map! Now if they would just get rid of the music!

Here is the City Government's site: http://www.cancun.gob.mx/cancun/index.php

A site that is uploaded on a semi-regular basis for the occupancy statistics is

Beautiful!!!!! Thank you so much Jim! I'm trying to put together a few 'expat nights out' that involve inexpensive, local events so this helps me tremendously!

I don't use this forum much but when I do, there's always a kind and helpful reponse at the other end. :)

    Marlo,

Baseball is a fun evening and I go as often as I can. It is like a buffet of sorts. There is far more food to eat than you can imagine, even at a MLB game in the states.

The first time I went to a game I was invited by Vic of Cancun Valet. I think there were 7 of us. The beer vendor came and just left us a 5 gallon bucket, like a paint bucket, filled with beer and ice, and a bottle opener and a count on the beer. Vic is well known at the stadium. Not sure how many buckets we polished off but it was more than one and pretty much only the guys were drinking beer. The girls were doing mixed drinks.

But the memorable part of the food and beverage experience was the food. One guy has a stand where he sells something similar to sausage with onions and peppers, but it's not Polish and the peppers are chilis of varying degrees of hotness. I go there so much that he knows me and just makes up my order without asking. Now that is scary.

Enjoy your outing. And Palapys is actually Palapas, plural of palapa, or the straw roof(s) so popular around the area.

The sausage vendor is Argentian. Our neighbour. He also has a pasta factory in Bonfil.
