We are thinking about staying a few days at the Isla after staying at TTR over NYE. Any suggestions? We are thinking about a beach house, but would consider one of the resorts. We may even do some looking into seeing if we could be buyers of a place sometime in the near future while we are down there.
We go to Isla just about every year we come toTTR. This year staying for two weeks. This Feb, as well as last year, we are staying at Paradise Suites, witch is very nice but a little more expensive than some others, depending on room choice. Right near North Beach, the area we like. Last year we booked it through VRBO. Isla is a great place to unwind after TTR before coming back to reality.
I know that this is "right" for some folks, and good for you when it is... but we just can't understand how anyone would want to leave TTR when on vacation (substitute DRM or DP if you're staying there) just to go to a place wehere it's sleepy all day, nothing is going on, and the people don't really talk to each other and/or mingle. Vacation is too precious to waste. That's just us and I get it. We like to come home from vacation tired and ready to relax at home!
@Bart/Annette if you're looking to buy on Isla Mujeres, each time we've visited there, folks told us their island remains threatened due to rising sea levels. (and not just from the occasional hurricane-fueled storm surge).
