Our first trip to TTR is this Feb, so been reading these forums to learn more, and after seeing a complaint thread about what you'd change about TTR, several folks chime in with "add a hot tub". So now I'm flipping. There's no public hot tub?!? I go the web site and can't find any confirmation there is one. I like seeing boobies as much as the next guy, but if I had to choose, I'd choose a resort with a good hot tub on the resort. (I'm not talking about lame room jacuzzis--not a substitute.) Is it just that folks don't like the current one(s)? Maybe the location or hours are inferior, or some other complaint? If there's a hot tub we can at least go get in once a day/night somewhere on the property, I'll be ok. So, I would appreciate someone explaining the situation. Thanks. (I tried and tried, but could not get the forum search to let me look for "hot tub" in the posts, so sorry if redundant question.)
Welcome to cancuncare! There arent really any public hot tubs. There is a Premier Members only hot tub that rarely gets used. Never been in it myself so not sure if it is actually 'hot' or just ambient temperature. In the main pool there are 4 large jacuzzi areas with comfortable seating for about 12, although the record is like 76 people or something. They have the bubbles but are not heated though as they are part of the pool, so the same temperature as the rest of the water.
According to chat on other threads Steve, the "premier" hot tub on the roof is now open to all due to it being under utilised. :daisy:
yeah the roof top isn't too bad if u want to getaway for a little while and still watch whats going on, it's not super hot either like the deck gets, but it's worth checking out..
Its a 6 person jacuzzi... It's not a regular hot tub, but if you find the right crowd of people ..... I believe our record was 27 all at once
But lets be clear. That is a rare case. The hot tub is tiny and hidden on the roof and most people think they can't go up there so there usually is no one in it (and until recently only premier was allowed). There really is a big gap when it comes to hot tubs. They need a larger, more accessible one. We always write that on our comments cards. I even write it on the restaurant comments cards I get while dining I want a hot tub, damn it!
Wow, I'm nearly speechless. I can't believe they don't have a hot tub in the main area. I would never even dream you'd design a beach resort without one. And, for the web site to say "Seven outdoor Jacuzzis" is pretty darn disingenuous. NO one thinks 'jacuzzi' just means a jet pool. I just love going from pool to hot tub, rinse and repeat. Oh well. Thanks everyone for helping me adjust expectations. Grieving period is over, now, though. I'll still get excited about the great fun & good times to come. Is it a firm answer that in February, we will be able to go hit the rooftop hot tub once a day?
