My wife and I are in our late 20's and looking at taking a different kind of vacation. Temptation is very intreaguing to both of us. One of our biggest reservations is that we don't drink. We don't have problems with others drinking but prefer to avoid the obnoxious frat-boy type drunks. Are there other people at Temptations that don't drink? Is the overall atmospher people socially drinking, laid back having a good time, or is it people stumbling around, not being able to form complete sentances and passed out (or somewhere in between)? Also, my wife would like to try going topless for the first time, but says she would be most comfortable if she was in the majority. Is topless for women the norm or the exception?
MNBob MNBob,my wife and I also don't drink and we are much older then you but we went to Tempatation last year and had a great time. Everyone here is friendly and no one forces you to do anything you don't want to. Matter of fact,I am going again this Labor Day and we are considering taking the Booze Cruise though we don't drink. As far as the topless goes,if your wife desires to do this she will be among the majority, not the minority around the Sexy Pool. Hope this helps.
You will have fun at TTR I'd say the majority of people there do drink but it is not the obnoxious frat boy type drinking you refered to. Yes it does happen on occassion but that can happen at any resort. You don't see a lot of that at TTR. TTR people are an awesome crowd who just want to cut loose, chill and have lots of fun. I would have to say moderate social drinking; everyone is laid back and having fun. It can be a bit rowdy sometimes, especially during the games, but it is definately NOT a bunch of incoherant drunks bothering people or passed out all over the place. When ever you put 300 people together with free alcohol you are bound to find a couple in the crowd that take it too far but it is not the norm by any stretch of the imagination. People can and do drink a lot there and are still very responsible in thier behaviour. It is very much a party atmosphere but not an alcohol fuelled one. We would not be going back for our 4th trip if it was merely a bunch drunks staggering around the pool. Safe bet to say the same for the people we have met there who are multi repeat offenders to TTR. We have met and become close friends with some of the best people in the world at TTR. RESPECT is a key factor in the people we have met there. Topless is the majority and it is a to each thier own attitude at TTR. It is the attitude of the people at TTR that makes it what it is It is not a who can stay drunk for an entire vaca resort. Hope this helps

There's a good age mix at Temptations, lots in their 20s... or act like it. Most drink but aren't drunk (obnoxiously or otherwise) or just plain don't drink at all. The atmosphere is fun and civilised, not the the "Spring Break mayhem" you get at some places. Going topless is really no big deal. I do it all the time. LOL Many women do, but not all. It's mostly kept to the Sexy Pool and spills over to the beach. If you've been to Europe, Brasil, or other areas with nude beaches, it's no big thang. I wouldn't concern yourself about it all... have fun and go with the flow. If you're not drinking, I'll have yours...
AND I still have your swim trunks to prove it Dave  Let's not scare off new victims errrrrrrrrrrrr possible new repeat offenders  Scott
im always honest............ tons of drunks there i assure you - would even call it a frat boy type of environment with lots of crazy fun people - not really the kind of environment for martini sipping and intellectual speculations while there are people who enjoy themselves just being laid back at the quiet pool - i would not be able to comment on just how laid back it is there as i have never been there - i quit doing holiday inn swimming pools after my mom and dad made me move out to the house to go to college my wife goes topless and i would say over helf the other women do - but there is zero pressure either way hope this helps rob
the thruth Been there when it was BBG and Temptations. 1) If you dont drink you are wasting your money going here, you paid for it but dont drink it. 2) I say 99 percent of the people drink and a good portion get wasted 3) Dont worry about the frat boy atmosphere, the majority of the people are over 30 with many 40s 50s and a few 60s, they are drunk but having a good time and would love to see your young wife topless. A lot of ladies are topless, some look good and some not. 4) We always go in October the crowd may be different than is spring, but I think not 5) If you go watch out for the Iguanas on the bar stools at the sexy pool. These are the folks who sit on their thrones all day and never move, the water is a little warmer around them (just kidding, but they sit there so long it makes you wonder when they take a leak) 6) A lot of people dont like the truth on this site, they will gripe after reading this, but it is what it is. 7) We are going mid October for our third trip, we drink. get a little wild, we dont hog the bar stools in the pool. Get a room by the quiet pool in the garden area if you can, as a new person they will try to stick you in the middle by the bar. The same Iguanas from the pool take up these stools at night and it is quite loud til 2 or 3 am, avoid a room in this area. In summary BBG Temptations is a fun place to eat and drink at a cheap price, it works for us, but if I was in my 20's and didnt drink after 2 or 3 days I would be bored to death. The beach is crappy, if this is your first trip and you are into the sand and water this isnt the place for you. If you want to eat and drink all day, hang by the pool and hang out with the rest of the drinkers, this is your place.
