My husband likes going fishing. Apart from the boat trips, is is possible for someone to fish on the lagoon side on their own?
Has anyone ever seen anyone fishing on their own anywhere?

The only "rod" he should bring is his own!

Excellent answer, J4... But to the point of the original question, I wouldn't bother to bring a fishing rod; not much shore fishing along the Hotel Zone beach and if you did a deep sea charter, they supply rods, tackle and bait. As for the lagoon side, we were only there one afternoon, and I don't recall any fishing going on there, either (but then, I was more focused on the beer and party activities on the Caribbean Queen cruise)...

Thanks, that's what I thought but I wanted to make sure from someone who had been there. We are going to Miami after Cancun and he will do a couple of fishing boat trips there as they seem to be much cheaper than the Mexican ones.
