An iphone 6 was left behind on the boat on the April 29 cruise.

If it is yours please contact me by private message and we will make arrangements for its return.

The owner emailed me and described the case accurately, they thought it had fell in the ocean. I'll be sending it back to them in the US via DHL.

So we sent the phone back via DHL, and it was signed for as delivered last Wednesday.

No email of thanks, and the $40 shipping fee that I sent a paypal payment request for is still unpaid.

I sometimes wonder why I bother.

Because it was the right thing to do. They are probably the same people that don't help you merge in traffic. Etc.... Keep up the great work.

That's really a shame Steve! Rest assured your efforts for these people didn't go unnoticed by many of us here! You did the right thing. You did for these people what you'd want someone to do for you. I'm fairly certain that your goodwill likely "bought" you much goodwill from the people that frequent this site. Well done Steve,

Its unfortunate that your good deed seemed to go unappreciated. I can honestly say that had it been our phone or camera, we would have reimbursed you for the shipping costs and then some out of appreciation for the fact that you saved our phone along with the potential memories captured on it! Were booked for your cruise on the 10th of June.... I'd be willing to reimburse your $40 shipping for these folks just to ensure you'd do the same again in the future, whether it be for our belonging or someone else's.

    No good deed goes unpunished....

I suppose we should give the individual the benefit of doubt, there could be circumstances beyond his/her control that is preventing the thanks. That said, my wife and I are anxiously awaiting our first cruise on the 29th and we want you to know that good deeds are appreciated. So from us thank you for doing the right thing. As an added note I pledge an extra $5.00 on my tip and challenge 7 other couples on the 29th cruise to do the same to cover your expense! I hope that I'm not the next one that needs you to go over and above the call but if I am I don't want someone else's bonehead move to ruin it for the rest of us. Thanks for all your hard work.
    Robert

I just got a note of thanks back from the owner of the phone and received the shipping money. They had been away for work and didn't have access to that particular email while away. All worked out fine in the end.
