We have just returned and had a great time. I am not sure why so many have moaned in the past, Chinos and ‘T’ were great fun. There were only two problems for us, 1 the blocking off of some areas (another thread). The other the Internet. TTR is trying to be an upmarket resort and nowadays only the slum resorts charge for wireless internet, let alone $15 a day! Last year we stayed at Wyndham Maya and that was all free, I travel the world and mainly its free. Cummon TTR, it costs less than the soap in the rooms, get up with today’s market. By all means a small charge to use your PC’s, but wireless should be free and accessible in every room or a specific area of the resort.
The only area I saw out of service was the Buffet for dinner (El Embarcardero). The upside of that is you didn't have to reserve for the specialty restaurants. The lack of free or reasonably-priced internet is annoying. Like the overpriced Chef's Special dinners, they may keep the free internet as a perk for Premier members? But it isn't in keeping with the times... in Canada/US, free wireless internet is the norm even for small hotels. I saw only one wireless network in range - Temptation's own. I took it as a sign that I should be ignoring email and work... maybe a good thing. But others don't have the luxury of staying out of touch.
Lol, Thanks spunky. I know others were saying its all too expensive for the interenet as well. lets hope TTR see sense. M&L
Ok, so how good is the coverage in areas where it does work? I've got a phone which can make calls over Wifi and not be charged the outrageous international roaming.
Coverage is kind of spotty...but you have to log in to thier wifi to use it and it has to be set up by the front desk.
Not a problem there...I'm sure it can be done via the BlackBerry. Spotty's ok, as I don't want to have TOO much contact with the outside world.
