Usually I'm complaining about slow, but has anyone doen a speed test lately? Take a look at this article http://alt1040.com/2009/02/prodigy-...ntando-50-la-velocidad-de-conexion-a-internet and then check your results. Mine are below:

I used to average 1680 down and 190 up.

From reading the blogs and news, it would seem that competition from the new cable carrier Megared caused the change in Slim's carnivorous pricing schedules. I'm amazed that the speed increase was rolled out nationally instead of only in the areas where Megared operates.

Now, if only a major cellular carrier would come in, we might get some relief on that front, too.

Still no news on when Megared will be coming to Cancun? There website not offering Quintana Roo yet so could be a while i'm thinking.

Can't say it's speeding up for me, look a whopping 0.88 down! Take it you got the 4mb telmex connection? Has the price come down then?

The price stays the same, the speed doubles. I had contracted for the 2mb service as soon as ADSL became available in the Hotel Zone. I got a "promotional" rate for being an early adapter and they continue to honor that rate, even at the new speed tiers.

I'd guess that you'll get the speed increase within the month, as they're rolling it out sectionally. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Megared.

If I held my breath waiting for anything in this country, i'd probably be dead a long time ago!
