They have places you can rent cell phones as well. We had Verizon and worked fine added a Mexico plan and all was good
We used to buy calling cards at the gift shop that are used at 3 payphones throughout the resort. They don't sell them at the giftshop anymore but through this forum a few people told us that they do sell phonecards at the minimart that is out the front door lobby to the left at the end of the parking lot. So that's what we did when we were there in March. They are $15 for an hour or more? It worked out great at the resort payphones. Sometimes we had to try a couple of times but it was the best bang for the buck!
