Has anybody got any info on companies, prices and where to book flights from cancun to mexico city whilst we are in cancun? thanks for your help
It can be quite expensive to travel within Mexico. We flew to Mexico City at Christmas and it was over 4000 pesos a person for a two hour flight. Try AeroMexico, Aviacsa, Magnicharter or Azteca Airlines. Depending on when you are travelling, you might find a good deal. We booked ours in July for December when we saw what looked like a decent price for the holiday season.
internal flights An article I just found: NEW AIRLINE SETS START-UP DATE MEXICO CITY - Controladora Vuela Compañía de Aviación, the startup airline owned in part by Mexican billionaires Carlos Slim and Emilio Azcarraga, will begin service March 13, Chief Executive Enrique Beltranena announced. The airline will operate under the commercial name Volaris, Beltranena said. During its first year the airline will fly between Toluca outside of Mexico City to Tijuana, Monterrey, Guadalajara and Cancún using Airbus 319A series jets. After a year it will offer direct flights to the U.S.
Air travel in Mexico is extremely expensive. Mexico has an excellent bus system and the price for even a luxury bus ticket is MUCH, MUCH less than an airline ticket. There is a good website out there with bus info but I don't have the info handy.
