Heard Marmona Beach is a good "getaway" day trip from Cancun. Does someone have a good beach club to go to there? Any information as well as directions would be appreciated.

Maroma Beach is beautiful, great spot. There really is only the one beach club, Maroma Paradise. It's just north of Playa del Carmen so heading down the highway you'll have to do the "retorno" when you see it (there are signs). I think we paid 100 pesos each to get in, plus what you consume (the menu was fairly reasonably priced, typical beach club prices but the service was excellent). Palapas, lounge chairs, showers, clean bathrooms. They also offer horse back riding, ATVs and snorkeling trips. They've got a website and a FB page, google them. :)

Here's a shot of the beach at Maroma....

I haven't seen a beach that big in this area since Wilma :) Might be time to head down to Maroma Beach.

I know what you mean, G.

Wonder if we could get there on the ADO, getting dropped off on the highway, then catching a cab, such as we do when we go to Puerto Morales?

That pic is from January 2011, gorgeous stretch of beach!!! Not sure if ADO would stop there, it's on the "fast" stretch of highway, I would hate to try to cross! Might be better off going all the way to Playa and taking a cab from there. :D (edited to add....) The beach club is also a loooong way from the highway, I wouldn't want to walk it, probably 1 or 2 kms of twisty turny road.

I actually had to just wipe my laptops monitor, I had my nose pressed up against it like a little kid at Christmas! :icon_biggrin:

Thank you CC. Looks good! By the way is the 100 pesos credited back when you show receipt for $$ spent in food and beverage as some beach clubs do?

A place that is on my "must-visit-list" for march.

Looks like the right tranquil place to get down from the Spring Break Mayhem ;-)
