Check out this amazing video of a tornado here in the Chicago area. This is about 15 miles south of where I am. Although there were tornados around here, none were near us. Enjoy! http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-32515 Katie
As you might remember, I graduated from Crete-Monee H.S. and many of my classmates and their families still live in that area. So far no one that I know has been injured. Property damage at the most so far. I've actually lived in 4 of the suburbs that got hit by the tornado! I still haven't heard from one of my secretary's so I don't know if they got hit or not. I was at Stanley's (Racine & Jackson) this morning for their breakfast buffet and a VERY loud bang rang out (sounded like a sonic boom) and the power died. The place was packed at the time and we got free breakfast! (cash registers weren't on a backup system) It's sorta weird tho.....ALOT of communities that pay into a emergency system for tornado warnings never heard the sirens going off. That's really bothersome to think you will have some sort of notice in the event of a tornado and then to find out you get nothing when one is ripping within a few miles of your home! Anyway.......Glad you & Steve are ok..... Michelle
