    I started a thread on this, because I got to thinking about the numerous complaints (including Stacia's) raised by folks who "want" to get into the theme nights, but then at the end, don't feel the need, or are worried about being the only one(s), don't have the right costume(s), are frightened or ashamed, don't want to look stupid, or whatever. OR, they DO get all ready and looking HOT, and then nobody else is wearing the Naughty Schoolgirl nothings with the guy in the kilt, whatever.

    As a starting premise -- Remember TTR's theme, "Nobody knows you and nobody gives a...."

    So, here we go.

    I totally understand kyfuncpl5568's wife's grumpiness about spending money on outfits when "nobody else is wearing them." That's really common. There are LOTS of people that hit TTR and never know about CancunCare.com, which is their loss and we need to educate them. I think we have a huge potential for fun folks, who just din't know what they are supposed to do, so we need a plan, almost a proselytizing mission (did I spell that right/), to get folks ON here, CCC, so that we can have as much fun at TTR during our own trips as possible.

    I think it could work like this (open to suggestions, so fire away):

    1.) Check Steve's Roll Call thread for the month you are going;

    2.) Figure out who else on the CCC boards are going to be at TTR while you and your group, lady, dude, whatever are as well;

    3.) PM/message/open comment on the board to those people and get an "inside group" of board folks from here to talk about who like which theme nights, if any, and which to participate in and how; and

    4.) If needs be, back-room exchanges of messaging can be made by ladies coordinating outfit choices, etc. That's how Stacia & her friends coordinate local parties, why couldn't it work at TTR's theme nights?

    Lastly: Don't worry about those who aren't in the know! Have YOUR fun, and enjoy the theme nights.

    When a group of, say, 6 to 8 very scantily clad, sexy nurses in tiny little tops and skirts shows up with a crowd of Dastardly-Dan Doctors (see the August Theme Night thread, and use some imagination), those who are unfamiliar with CCC will almost certainly get a kick out of the sexiness, get a giggle because of the sheer fun outrageousness of it all, and then wonder why they weren't invited. people LIKE to be "IN," so there's a very powerful unconscious desire to find out how to be part of the fun group. Only natural.

    Then, the next time they come back to TTR, because something like 50% do, they'll be on here, perpetrating the thing.

    Seems like it'd work. I'm off to the August Roll call thread to see who's gonna be there with us August 12 to 17!

    I think that's pretty much how it works presently.

    It's just that sometimes we have a lot of people at the resort and other times we dont have very many. We've had 3 or 4 huge groups 100+ strong over April, May and June and at these times the cancuncare theme nights were well represented - often much better than the hotel ones.

    During the summer months of July and August numbers of forum members at the hotel tend to be lower. Many of our members are parents and have kids off school, weather is good in the US and Canada and days are longer leading to more time outdoors and less time online. Add to this the fact that the demographic of the hotel also changes - more Brits, more singles, more Mexicans - most of these groups are under represented on the board compared to at the hotel. Summer is cancuncare quiet season.

    Cancuncare theme nights are great fun when supported and definitely lead to others asking about the forum and wanting to be part of the group. But it's not going to work as well when we don't have very many people at the hotel in the first place.

    I understand your point, Steve.

    What I'm driving at is more along the line of increasing the participation in theme nights on those less-well-attended months - particularly like July & August. You are dead-on, normally we'd not be going down to TTR in August, either, since we'd have just been somewhere (just got back from hawaii a week ago), but this August is special because my bud's hottie GF is turning 50. We've got this shiny-new TTR membership, and we're wanting to really get our money's worth out of the premier membership thingamajig, that doesn't hurt.

    (Yes, youngsters, it IS possible to be Hot at 50. or 60. If ya wanna talk 70s, look into Sophia Loren and/or Dyan Cannon.)

    So, just throught to point out the "How it's done," to those folks who are not used to using message boards. Some of us, who are much more naturally inclined to this online thing sort of take it for granted. However, to others, it's a very alien concept and they don't understand it.

    Shoot. Let's say Chango is there end-July thru beginning August. Let's further say that there's maybe 20 CCC nyms (possibly representing anywhere from 20 to 40 folks, if couples). But, the mere fact that the people have nyms on here doesn't mean they really can work the system to their advantage.

    I'll guess that maybe there's a 50% internet-expert rate, which means that 20 of my proposed potential 40 know what' up on how to meet/greet/set things up on here. But, that leaves out 10-20 potential party-buddies.

    Let me put it another way --- Stacia's never posted anything on a message board in her life, though she's read my stuff or others when there's stuff of interest to her that I find and bring the lap to her to read.

    But, Stacia is Precisely the type of chick that wants to know how to set up girlfriends wearing the same outlandish stuff at parties so she's not "the only one." I think that's my main point.

    Oh, I agree. There's lots of folks who are not experts at finding their way around a forum like this, I get questions daily about using the forum that for many of us are second nature.

    More visibility for theme nights is certainly a good thing, I'd be happy to take on board any suggestions. I just wanted to make the point that when we have fewer people at the hotel then it follows that participation is going to be lower than when we have big groups.

    I think if we could make a poll with more than 10 options and be able to vote more than once on it, then we could post the entire month and theme nights in a poll and have people vote on the dates they are planning on participating. But like I said, a person would have to be able to vote on several options.

    These are great ideas. I agree that a lot of people do not know about this forum as we didn't our first trip. The theme nights make a trip an awesome time, the more participation the better it is. This forum helps people understand that this resort is a place for adult fun do things you wouldn't normally do on vacation after all were only live once. And for those that are a little shy trust me nobody gives a shit and nobody judges.

    This is so silly! Never do anything you don't want to do! Do theme nights if you want to, not because some one else says they are going to do it. Do want excites you and your partner. If others join you at the party, fine. If not, screw em all, literally I hope, if not, at least figuratively!

    Theme nights are not what makes Temptation great IMHO. It is the 24/7 drinks/food/fun/staff and, of course, the people staying there that makes it great. We would all have fun together no matter what everyone was wearing, or obligated to wear on any given night. It's all about being comfortable in your own skin, and not being afraid to be yourself while you are there.
