Hi all, I'm a 7-time TTR repeater. Five days after returning from our seventh trip this July, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was an unbelievable trauma going from running around topless for seven days to wondering if I'd live to see another trip--and if I did whether I'd even have boobs. I was lucky--my cancer was caught early and not aggressive. I had a lumpectomy in August and won't need chemo. However, I start four weeks of 5-day-a-week radiation treatments Monday. To put a silver lining to the whole ordeal, I've created a Go Fund Me campaign to support a local cancer resource center that has helped me immensely through the physical and emotional roller coaster. They provide services not just for people with any kind of cancer, but for their families and caregivers as well. My campaign is called "Heels to Heal," and I'll be wearing high heels every day of radiation, letting people pledge by the inch :liebe011: I'm also donating $500.00 of my own. I know TTR people are hands down the most fantastic people in the world, so I wanted to share this campaign with you. Financial support is great if you want, but emotional support is just as appreciated. Hopefully, I will be there with you all again next year to celebrate the reopening! Oh wow, hugs to you. I can't imagine the impact the diagnosis gave you. I wish you well with the treatments. Mrs. C
Good luck to you. We had our own personal battle 2.5 years ago. As long as you stay positive, know that it is a fight and you will win, keep going to work, go work out every day, don't lay down, you will come out on top. Do not let cancer define you, you define the effect. Glad you caught it early, attitude is everything. Now go kick it's ass!
You have the right attitude to get through this bump in the road. Keep the positive attitude and fight this, you will put this behind you with the your strength to win and with and your friends. D&T Sent Using Tapatalk
