As of today my boss has not approve my leave to take my vaccation and I leave in 13 days. I sent in my request in over a month ago. Never had this problem in May before but I have a new boss. But Im going anyway I told her to what she had to do but I was going on my trip and she said she would, I may get fired or demoted but I really dont care, it's an awful job anyway. Anybody else every had this problem?
Don't have that problem but I always have ot put up with bullshit mistakes or her thinking I need to work my weekend rotations.
I just started a new job less than two months ago, I got 4 days off because I've already earned 2 vacation days and I have to do a training this weekend so even though I'm an administrator and don't get comp time or overtime they were still cool about the other two days (also considering I have to work on my birthday weekend at this training, and it is my daughter's birthday too!). The only reason I'm not still at TTR and on the Boobs Cruise this Thursday is because of that training. But, at least I got two days before and after a weekend to get away Good luck with your leave request!!
Similar, many years ago. I'll tell you more later. (Never looked back.) Do what you need to do. You gotta work to live, not the other way around. George
Self-employment is the way to go! My boss thinks I should take more holidays! lol But seriously, TerryB, your situation is awful...I sure hope your boss come around on this.
Must be why I'm self employed, no one to keep me home but myself and that aint gonna happen when it comes to TTR
yea im going through the same thing. got a new principle last year. had a trip already booked and paid for for almost a year and she wanted to stop me from going. but of course she couldnt, so then she tried to make me take all of my vac. in the summer. i pushed and got the april trip, now she has said no to the sept. trip. so i will fight this as well. its my benifit to use as i want to, and 4 and a half months notice is way advanced. there is even an open calendar on coverage. stick to your guns, these work place bullies need to be stopped. they act like you are messing with thiere vac. i have to get everything in writing or it doesnt happen.
An awful situation. I'm very fortunate that I just simply tell my boss when I want to take time off and it's usually approved. My husband has more of a problem because he has to arrange for somebody to cover him, so we have to book our leave well in advance. There isn't anybody to cover me so it usually makes no difference when I take time off - there will inevitably be a huge pile of stuff waiting for me on my return!
Glad I have such a strong union. It would suck to be in your situation. We hope everything works out for the best.
Just in case you get fired have everyone at TTR line up for a "mooning" picture. That way you get to send it to your boss and let them know we all said "Kiss our ASS" lol
