I have spent my entire 43 years of life running from the sun. I burn and blister waaaayyyyyy too easy, but in preparation for our trip to TTR in May I made the decision to try and work on a base tan at a tanning salon.

*****It should be noted that the idea of purposely putting my body in a space built for UV rays goes against my instincts*******:)

So I go to the tanning joint and the nice attractive, very tan, girl tells me a month costs 60 bucks.............then there is a 20.00 set up fee. then she starts explaining what kind of lotions I need. Then she says I need these filly little Morpheus glasses. All in for my 1 month was just shy of 300.00.

    *****yes! I am a sucker*****

I hope my tan looks good.

You know... next to me, dead people look healthy. I am doing the tanning booth thing (not bed) so that I don't get a lobster tan. I hear it is worth it. I'll let you know.

Pre tanning is def a good idea (altho not so healthy) before hitting it hard on vacay under the sun.

I paid $30 a month and thats UNLIMITED in their strongest bed (im olive skin so I dont burn) and it helps. Last time I went without prepping my skin and I peeled very badly.

Def use the GOOGLES, cuz If you dont, it will def lead to poor night vision like myself. I was too worried about possibly looking like a racoon so I tossed the googles and now I can barely see/drive at night...and forget about it if its raining out :(

    Wear the goggles!!!!!!!!

The actual tanning isn't too expensive. It is the damn lotions the young hot girl talked me into.

I bet they were all fighting for position to pounce when they saw me park out front. You can see from a mile away that I know NOTHING about tanning.

$300, wow! The goggles are a MUST, protect your eyes, and they should be small enough that you only get the strap lines on the side of your face, and sometimes the bridge over the nose. Tanning salons make most of the profit on lotions. They're essentially just moisturizers, as moist skin tans better than dry skin.

If I had actually given this any prior though I would have done just that. I just walked in there and got suckered. It's actually kind of funny. I don't get taken advantage of very often.

I guess the lessen here is that if the timeshare folks at TTR are young and hot I should probably just pass on the tour:icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin:
