Our excitement is turning a little to worry, we are supposed to be there on the 17th for a week, waking up this morning to hear there was an 8.1 earthquake has us concerned, Irma so far is steering away, Jose is following her path, Katia is dumping gallons of rain, we hope next week brings sunshine and calm lol
The earthquake epicenter was 800 miles from Cancun on the opposite (Pacific) coast. There are some minor fault lines between Cancun and Cuba but no major ones and earthquakes of that scale happening near Cancun are unheard of.
We felt the earthquake last night at about 12:30 am! Last night was our last night so we had just gotten in bed about then. We were in the Tower and I thought my hubby was dancing to the music in bed. It was enough to shake the bathroom door a bit.
Yes I am leaving Oct 29th and I see Jose is heading towards Veracruz. This weather pattern is making me nervous. I was in Cancun for Hurricane Wilma in 2005 and sat in a storm shelter for 6 days waiting out that storm, I am not too excited to try that again.
