    Anyone making preparations yet?

We stocked up on extra water today, checked our supply of batteries and Jannet is out getting duct tape for the windows, a couple of battery operated lights and stuff for Dani. We have plenty of food in, anyhow it's about time our freezer got a clear out.

The supermarket is busy though some empty shelves already, batteries out of stock etc. Don't leave it until too late, better to be safe than sorry.

My plan was to go to Comercial Mexicana after work this morning......ooops! Will hit Soriana later for sure.

For the "First Time Hurricaners", maybe we could post suggestions on how to prepare......I know there's a few folks living here now who weren't here for Wilma. Throw your thoughts out for all to see oh experienced ones!

    Things to Buy
    Water
    Canned foods
Animal food (I know, such a sucker for the furry ones)
    Flashlights or lanterns
    Candles
    Batteries

    Things to Do

    Back up your computer :D
Have mops, buckets and rags on hand
Board or tape up your windows
Unplug electrical appliances and move to high ground
Get as much stuff as possible off the floor
    Protect your important documents
Charge your cel phone and buy credit

If you do not feel safe in your home, find the location of your nearest shelter.

Add your two cents, I have to run for the moment....

    Oh, another one.
Buy some ice and keep it in the freezer. When the power goes transfer the ice to a coolbox and keep your stuff cooler for longer.

Get some baby wipes and a big bottle of hand sanitizer for quick clean ups when you don't have water.

    Steve,

My Prodigy dial up never worked during Wilma, do you have a hint?

Is there a way to charge the cell phone at the car? Mine needs to get charged almost every time I give/receive a call

Anyway it is supposed to hit on Tuesday at 2 am, so we have time, no panick.

Now we can pray so it goes south of Cancun. But also prepare
