We want to get to TTR as soon as possible after we land! We were hoping to just do carry-ons so we can truck it through customs/immigration and head right to the resort. How much time should we add to it if we check a bag?
On average, we wait for our checked bag about 5 minutes. Just like he said, once you get through the immigration line, bags are usually already being put on conveyor.
I`ve never had to wait very long when I`ve gotten to mexico or cuba or whereever. For some reason on the way back when i`m dead tired though it always takes forever. Also, how are you getting from the aiport to the resort? Because if you're on a bus or something with people that DID check bags, you will have to wait either way.
We took the advice of the folks on this board and booked USA Transfers. I think that means it's just US, with no other passengers and no stopping at any other resorts. (Although we'd be happy to share with any other TTRers who are arriving at the same time (1130am Tues 15 May)
Booking direct transfers with USA Transfers is the smartest thing anyone can do who is staying at Temptation, with it's location and everything.
It is pretty fast - by the time you get through the immigration line your bag will probably be waiting for you - or you won't have to wait very long. I was very impressed with the Cancun Airport!
When we used to take luggage it seemed ours was always the last one out onto the carousel. We haven't taken anything but carry ons for the last 8 years........It's so nice not to have to mess with luggage......:mnm:
Me too -- Been to Cancun several times but always with carry-on. This time we're bringing SO much stuff that I don't think we'll be able to fit it all in carry-ons, though I will certainly try! Plus, some things are too big to go in the carry-on :icon_wink:
Have to agree..Cancun airport is the most convenient airport I've ever passed through. Everything just seems to run smooth. I think last year from landing time to resort arrival is approximately 1 hour.
