Those that have been there before, how much cash do you think we should bring for tipping? We will be there for 5 nights and will be tipping on drinks, dinners, and maids. Or maybe just in general how much cash should we take? Not planning on doing excursions outside the resort.
we usually bring about $300 for a week. about $30 per day for meals drinks and maids and then the rest for bellmen, drivers and others who impress us.
We usually take about $500. Always take extra just in case you would like to do a massage anything extra like that.
For 5 nights, $200-$300 should do. We typically tip a buck a drink and we haven't done bubba mugs. Breakfast buffet we typically drop $3 on the table. Going to one of the nicer restaurants we'll drop $10-$12, commensurate with a typical two person dinner in the States. We usually go to Wal-Mart if we need anything. We only do maid service every two to three nights just because we really don't like people coming in and out of the room when we are not there. When we do have the room made up it's typically $5 during our stay and $10-$15 the day we leave.
We budget on about $50 /day for tipping and small incidentals but mostly for tipping. Then we add in the cost of the Boobs Cruise and touristy purchases. We bring lots n lots of $1 bills...$250-300. Over all, about $800 for 10 days and almost always bring home at least $100.
We took 1000 for 10 days and had to get 300 more. Here is a rundown of what I can remember. 85 for US transport round trip and a 1hour stop at Walmart. 180 at Walmart keep in mind we didn't pack anything just a carry on with clothes, so we had to buy all the essentials there. 350 for the member yacht cruise, 2 boobs cruises for 2 people 340, shopping in town 200, couples sensual massage 170 I think (worth the $$$). Then tips and what not. The others that went on the yacht with us did give us money but I cant remember how much exactly.
We typically only bring cash for tipping. When we go outside of the resort we use our debit card/credit card. We've had no issues out in town with bad atm/being overcharged. We've never been on the Boobs Cruise. Planned on it this year, but the dates bookend our trip and we'll have to miss out. Haven't done the massage yet so perhaps we'll bring extra cash this year. We typically have shuttle service paid for through orbitz, so depending on your extra curriculars you will have to adjust accordingly.
I think we're going to go with $300, this post seems most relative to what I can see ourselves spending in 5 nights. We're going in too late in the evening for the Boobs Cruise, and can't see ourselves going to the spa (I'm an aesthetician and work at a med-spa). We're not big spenders at all and are coming equipped with all the things that were recommended on this forum, such as a waterproof digital camera, Bubba Mugs, RecoverORS, etc. I think this amount should be good for our $55 USA Transfer round trip, random Walmart cab trips, tips, and extra emergency/spending money. Can we use our credit card there without being charged extra to use it?
