A lot of resorts in Cancun have a better beach but the resorts are also stuffy and have zero nightlife...we find the beach at TTR perfectly fine, beautiful and nice calm water..if you seen are beaches here in Minnesota on lakes you'd appreciate TTR's beach also
If you are on a Minnesota beach April, in one of your legendary suits....then it has to be a great beach
cant wear those here, but very small scrunch butt ones do the job even though a lot of people stare and point
A lot will say the beach is awful, but I think I actually prefer it to other beaches along the hotel zone. Because TTR is situated on the top of the hotel zone (in the top part of the '7' shape), it is on the sheltered side, so seaweed grows freely and there's not much in the way of waves. You'd need to go to the other side of the hotel zone to get the crashing waves sort of beaches. I prefer this as the sea is calmer so rarely a red flag out, whereas I think the other beaches can get quite choppy. What I would advise though is to choose a spot on the beach carefully - the loungers to the left of the resort (by the volleyball) suck. Lots of smells coming from the boats docked right there, and the loungers in front of the sexy pool are reserved for premier members so regular folk can't use them. The best loungers for non-premier are the ones in front of the sports pool, Asian restaurant and quiet pool, but they are snapped up quite early.
No waves, OK to look at. Not much for swimming. Not the reason that most of us go to TTR, but not a reason to keep you away either.
Is there WiFi in the rooms? I will have a little business today and planned on using skype. Not sure if there is WiFi at all.
It's at an extra cost. Some rooms have better coverage then others. We bought it for a day (to check in with back home) and didn't have a problem in the 5000 block. We've read that other people had problems though.
