from what I can tell on the TV, the crowd was amazingly into the game today, up until the end where they started boo'ing. Did anyone across the pond watch the game? Is this something you would like to see more of? And does anyone have pictures with the Jason Taylor robot that was parading around England? haha its just a damn shame the dolphins lost
Explain more Fletch.. American Football.... in the UK? and people showed interest??! My country has changed
yep the dolphins and giants played the first regular season American football game today at Wembley Stadium. The crowd was fired up from the get-go....and surprisingly they even had a bunch of NFL jerseys. It was good to see....heres a link to the story on the game http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/recap?game_id=29301&displayPage=tab_recap&season=2007&week=REG8
oh there was even a streaker during the game haha http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3084169
This disturbed me so much I had to research, and found it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/other_sports/american_football/7056755.stm 82,000 people showed up ... was it kids for a quid or something! Hopefully no more sacrilege will take place in future. Keep your game and we'll keep ours
Sorry, was posting at the same time as you. So, was the streaker male or female? I might check out youtube tomorrow if the latter I guess it has a way to go to catch on in the UK. Didnt realise there were so many from the US working in London,
everyone got well in to it over here, i tried to get tickets but they sold out within hours .... still the games not as big as it used to be back in the 80's..... personally i love it, even played it for 5 years, its quite popular at university level and there are a few leagues around.... hope they bring it back as a regular season fixture (with better teams though!). The Dolphins suck. Saw the animatronic model of JT in town the other day, was pretty cool should of taken some pictures.
It seems to have been taken in brilliantly! It's a decent sport but I dont think its the best of US sport.... NHL and Basketball I prefer Sounds like yesterday was great though there was a HUGE tailgate party before/during the game for folks who didnt get tickets too I believe
