From friends I have talked to, I hear it's pretty bad and dangerous. Were thinking of you and hope "y'all" as well as your friends and family all safe.
Finally got power this morning. Hopefully it stays on rest of the time.. sure stinks trying to sleep in a dead calm house at 42 degrees... Fortunately, no bursted pipes for us but neighbors and family members had bursted pipes and what a mess... Houston area is still a mess, but I think once the storm leaves area and we can warm up a bit, we can get things back to the normal mess of worrying about Covid.. I do have to admit, it was nice to hear about something else other than Covid! thanks for checking in..
42 degrees inside your house in Texas is cold, as we aren’t used to that. We aren’t winter people here!!
Good here for us in SA. We have not lost power or internet but have not had running water since Sunday. Got our hopes up today when it started to run slowly...for about 45 minutes, and then stopped! Been melting snow to flush toilets. Showering at gym, about 4.5 miles from house. Lucky enough to have plenty of food and bottled water on hand to drink and wash dishes. Most all the 4-6” snow melted away today as it got up to 45. Cooling down to upper 20’s tonight and expecting snow. We shall see! So we have been fortunate and lucky.
Wife and I both worked crazy hours. We work in healthcare (Houston) and at least one of us have been at work 24/7 since Sunday. Power came on today after being off since Monday. Ready for a damn drink and warm weather. I love cold weather sometimes but this was some Bullshit lol.
It's been a rough few days dealing with power outages, freezing pipes, etc. We were actually supposed to be at TTR this week but we moved our trip up to January. We'd much rather be sitting in the warm Cancun sun drinking by the sexy pool with all you party people!!
We are faring well, rolling blackouts we are covered with a back up generator, helping friends all over the place worse off than us. Frozen water line thawed once, baby sitting pool pump and filter with blankets. No gas to be found for 3 counties, LP line is 4 hours to refill tanks, cant find a heater or generator on the shelf anywhere and oh...the roads have layers of ice, snow and then ice again...Texas is strong and will return soon.
Snowing like crazy in SA now. Did not snow last night as predicted. Started about 7:45am and supposed to continue until 5pm or so 1-2 inches already and roads completely covered again! Snowmageddon! Come ski beautiful San AnSnowNio ! Quickly, by tomorrow before it all melts away.
The best thing I have found is throw a couple blankets on the bed, have you and your partner strip naked and and share body heat. We camped once at -20 degrees Celcius. Worked wonders
