My husband and I travel to TTR every year for "our" vacation, however we are wanting to bring our 2 boys to Cancun next year. Are there any really great hotels for kids? Ages 11 and 7

Gran Caribe Real is wonderful...but a VERY popular family resort is Crown Paradise. Great for the price conscious family, but not as nice as the GCR or GP.

We stayed at the Great Parnassus with our 3 kids aged 10 to 14 and they had a blast. There are minigolf "tournaments" everyday, tons of pool activities, the kids club looked like it would be fun, but our kids only spent one day there. The room we had was nice, it had 2 double beds and bunkbeds. The staff was fantastic and some of the evening shows were designed for kids. The only negative comments I have from the Great Parnassus are that during the busy times the elevators are really slow, but the stairs are quick, and the ocean was a little rough. The kids had a blast playing in the ocean, but I have a minor physical disability and I could not keep my balance in the waves. I would definatly return to the Great Parnassus. I'm not sure if it ranked as a 5 star resort, but i would call it a strong 4 star for sure. I hope this helps!

My husband an I stayed 2 years ago at blue bay. Which has changes name they now have a water park. They had great kid activities. We went in November. Weather was great. Was very reasonable. I also liked that they had alot of adult centered activities so you did not feel completely surrounded by kids 24/7
