I was in Home Depot this am buying boards for the windows. By 10.30am they had sold out and not due another delivery until after 2pm- the queues were out the door. Just thought I ought to warn people . Tracey
And most that they seel is WAY TOO THIN to use. THe wind gets behind it and it breaks up and turns into missiles. Go to Talleres via the Tulum extension (by the big Telebodega). Head down Talleres from there (toward Merida) and 1 or tow buildings down on the right is a HUGE warehouse with NOTHING BUT PLYWOOD inside. I use at least 16mm, preferably 20mm. It's heavier to erect, but once installed PROPERLY (with heavy duty concrete anchors) and sealed around the edges with goo to stop the wind getting behind it, it's NOT gonna budge.
thank you so much for the input on the lumber yard. My property manager is there trying to secure plywood and get it installed. I sent her your info if she didn't get any @ home depot
I'm surprised you chose not to respond with a wood erection joke. I handed it to you on a plate and you missed the opportunity. What does it take?
