"The Boys are Back in Town," according to my bro who's keeping up with my old home team, the Washington Capitals. Well, many of them anyway. According to a team official, Donald Brashear, John Erskine, Brent Johnson, Olie Kolzig, Boyd Gordon, Nicklas Backstrom, Michael Nylander, Chris Clark, Shaone Morrisonn and Brian Sutherby are among the guys who are on the ice one morning last week at KCI for an informal skate. Former Cap Peter Bondra is also out there. (Bondra has done this the past few Septembers to stay in shape.) I'm also told that Comcast SportsNet color analyst Craig Laughlin is leading them in drills. (They go on to say Laughlin is probably involved because he is not a member of the staff--it is against the rules for official staff to train in pre-pre-season). If anyone knows Craig, he is a former hockey pro that perhaps was knocked too many times in the head...he's got a voice that reminds me of someone sucking helium or right after getting kicked in the huevos. Funny guy!
hockey is still around?? Thought they were on strike or something, never see it on tv......... hmmmmmmmmmmm
theyve got a deal with Versus, puts a bunch of games on a week, and NBC, and Ive got the NHL Center Ice package, so at least Im happy haha
damn! I didn't know that Peter Bondra has retired. He was fun to watch as a Cap...too bad we all can't stay young forever, eh? http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/10/29/sports/EU-SPT-HKY-NHL-Bondra-Retires.php
