In this oh so flat landscape, does anyone know of ANY hills of some sort where I can run to step up my stamina?

Maybe I should change it to "slope-like area" for running? :)

I was thinking about the likes of Puente Nichupte(the bridge at the Xcaret tower) etc.

Any more similar suggestions are welcomed :)

As a good alternative run on the beach - that'll build your stamina up running through the sand.

I was going to say that you can run up and down the hill between Playa Delfines and its parking lot. It's steep there, but short and sandy.

I really miss running in the mountains...sigh.

Mat: Hey man. Thanks, but my stupid right foot absolutely hates running on sand since a few years back :(

Plus last time I tried it(twice actually..) here in Cancun, Ive managed to step on glass... :( Let me know if you come to think of alternatives :)

RG: The sand is a bit of a problem for me, so no can do.

But Im thinking the climb from "El Rey" up to Playa Delfines(on the concrete) could be decent :)

Tell me about it, miss mountain and terrain running like hell :(

rawkus - I used to run a lot of talus slopes...sometimes if I run on broken twisted sidewalks in Cancun I can almost remember what talus running was like.

San Crisobal de las Casas is very hilly, actually mountainous, but you probably want less than a 12 (or whatever) hour drive.

Sorry, I could not help myself.

You could try putting 5-10 kgs of bags of sugar or our flour in a backpack and run that way. The results should be the same as far as building your stamina.
