I am staying near market 28 and need to find an ear Doctor to remove some stubborn ear wax that is driving me crazy. I thought about going to the Red Cross by the Walmart but would rather see a specialist as I need both ears cleaned of the wax. It's an ongoing problem for me. Need some recommendations. Al
Many of the pharmacies have a Dr's room next to them. Look for a YZA or Ahorra pharmacy, consultations are about $5 and they can give you a prescription for what you need. If you need a specialist then Hospital Galenia is what I would recommend, but it's going to be $$30-$40 for an appointment and you may not get in immediately.
Thanks Steve, my usual Hydrogen Peroxide drops in the ears followed up with a warm water ear wash with a rubber syringe to flush the ear wax out hasn't worked. I'm wanting to find a doctor that has one of those flushing tools and a scope to see inside. I usually get this done before coming here as I have small ear canals that tends to retain the wax. I can't go swimming until my ears are clear or I will likely get an ear infection. Al
At Galenia, here's my preference, Dr Juan Jose Garcia. Excellent command of English, educated in part in the U.S., he's hard to beat. Tel (998) 891-5200 ext. 312 Office number (998) 267-7999 Mobile 9988441043
It's 11:00, I just got home from the Red Cross near Walmart. There was no charge for the visit. I have an appointment for this Saturday at 10:00 AM with a Doctor from Amerimed Hospital that works at the Red Cross only on Saturdays. I was told it will cost me ~ 300-400 pesos. The Doctor is an ear specialist, I think that is what they were trying to tell me. V, sorry I did not get your message until I got back home. I will keep your info for future reference. Al
I saw the doctor today and he said there was no ear wax, I have a bad infection in my right ear. I now have to take oral and pill antibiotics for a week. Six years ago I got the same thing here, not sure where it came from. Nether time had I gone swimming. Just wondering if the shower water getting into my ears could cause this? From now on I will be carrying antibiotic ear drops in my travel bag. Thanks all for your suggestions.
