Has anyone out there had to participate in such a thing for their health insurance?

My hubby's employer is having everyone come in, they're drawing blood, and want a medical history....i.e do you smoke, drink how much how often, history of whatever in your family history....but here's the one that really REALLY irritates me....they measure you....especially women.....they measure your stomach, they measure your hips, take your weight......AND after they find out whats wrong w/you, they call you and try to set you up for programs and crap afterwards!!! (I wonder if the do not call list blocks them??).....lol, all coming from same company that doesn't cover chantix and tried to not cover my hysterectomy coz they said it was a voluntary surgery....but thats a different story all together!!

I have hard enough time going to doctor that I absolutely love and having stuff done on me, let alone some stranger that I have to see just for health benefits!!!

So I was just wondering if anyone else has had to go through this and what they think of the whole thing????

It's unfortunate, but that's the current trend over here, too. Used to be we could get the "standard" health insurance offered by our employer without a physical examination. There were other health insurance/HMO options back when. Now it's just one option (BC/BS PPO...still not bad) and any new employees and/or new spouses have to submit to an exam.

My fear is that when it's time for me to finally leave this crappy job (I know, I know...be happy that at least you HAVE a job), T and I will have to submit ourselves to another health care provider's poking and prodding before we're given an offer for coverage and a quote.
